What a great time had by all. It was an overwhelming show of support and raised over $3,400. It was highlighted by the hanging of Ian’s 2010 Honeybaked National Championship jersey in their Legends Room. It was unveiled from under the black curtain by Ian’s dad, Joel Jenkins, and Travis Hawkins a high school friend. A special thanks going out to both USA NTDP hockey teams and staff for coming to support the event. A touching moment when the USA goalie coach, Mike Ayers, presented a #35 USA jersey. Thanks to family, friends, supporters, donors and Buffalo Wild Wings.

The Detroit Tigers are big supporters of the Gift of Life Foundation and the Donate Life Coalition of Michigan. Together, they honored Ian Jenkins and his family on August 2, 2011.
There was a heartwarming pre-game ceremony where Ian's sister, Cassidy, threw the first pitch.
Fans could register as organ and tissue donors. Special-edition baseball cards were distributed to both new donors and previously registered donors who showed the red heart emblems on their driver’s licenses or state ID cards.
